T. 9--Morning Bloom

I think it’s quite appropriate that this lively little piece was created and put on paper on my birthday, even my sixteenth birthday. This is another piece that I think is really fun to play, mostly because of the way it feels in my right hand. The swaying syncopation on top of the steady left hand harmony is particularly moving, as is the playful sway of the right-hand melody as it builds into thirds and climbs up and comes back down again. Such were my thoughts and feelings surrounding this piece at the time I composed it. Sometimes I really struggle to find an appropriate title for my compositions. In this case, I finally settled on  “Morning Bloom” on the idea of happy little flowers greeting a spring morning.
